The Death and Afterlife of Dr. Crash Friendly
An original production by Trent Creswell

"The Death and Afterlife of Dr. Crash Friendly" is an original play written, performed and directed by Trent Creswell while he was a senior at The Chattanooga Center for Creative Arts.  The production was Trent's theatrical attempt to rebuild his life and friendships following a devastating bicycle accident.  In June of 2008 while riding his bike in the North Chattanooga, Trent was hit head-on by a speeding Buick.  Trent was in a coma for over two weeks and suffered severe trauma to his face.  While still in a medically-induced coma, a love triangle began between his best friend and his female love interest, shattering their relationships.  "The Death and Afterlife of Dr. Crash Friendly" was Trent's attempt to rebuild these relationships and discover if theater could be used as a therapeutic process.

The production was performed at The Center for Creative Arts on May 11, 12, and 13 of 2009 to standing room only audiences.  All proceeds from the play were donated to the Craniofacial Foundation of America, raising over $1,500.  Trent was recently named a NFAA winner in non-fiction writing and is currently a Theater Arts major at DePaul University.
